Welcome to the department of psychology at Chonnam National University!
The department was founded in 1978, and is the leading department in Gwangju/Chonnam area that provides educational and research opportunities in both basic and applied areas of psychology. With 8 faculty members at present, the department is dedicated to excellence in undergraduate education, offering courses in the fundamental science of mind, brain and behavior as well as courses relevant for clinical, counseling and industrial settings. Faculty members are actively conducting research in their fields of specialty such as cognition, learning, development, socio-cultural, clinical, counselling, and industrial psychology. Also, currently about 50 graduate students in both ph.D and master's programs engage in activities to become professionals in a variety of settings, including academia, government, and industry.
